Frequently asked questions

Where do I buy a car in Serbia?

SerbiaHub collects listings from Serbian classifieds sites. Filter by make, model, year, city, fuel type and mileage.

How much does a used car cost in Serbia?

Older European sedans €2-5K, decent 5-10-year-old cars €5-15K, recent ones €15-30K. Prices are higher than in the EU because of import duties.

Can I bring a car from the EU?

Yes. Customs clearance is about 18-25% of the value plus fees. Cars older than 2018 are usually not worth it. Registration requires a residence permit or a Serbian sole proprietorship.

What documents do I need to buy a car?

Passport, PIB (tax number) and a Serbian bank account or cash. The contract is notarised (€50-100); re-registration into your name is done at the police (MUP).

Is third-party or full insurance required?

Third-party liability (OSI) is mandatory, €100-300 per year depending on engine size. Full cover (kasko) is optional, roughly €500-1000 per year.

How do I check a car before buying?

The Serbian equivalent of CarVertical is sajtoteh.rs (service history). An inspection at a workshop costs €30-50. Every SerbiaHub listing shows the VIN photo and the seller's full description.
