In Belgrade, parents demand an increase in subsidies for private kindergartens to 47 thousand dinars

Parents of children attending private kindergartens in Belgrade began collecting signatures for an increase in city subsidies from 33 000 to 47 000 dinars per month.

The amount of compensation has not changed since December 2023. At the same time, according to parents, the cost of visiting private institutions has increased significantly over the past two years.

According to Belgrade's budget documents for 2026 year, preschools attend 81 802 children:

- 55 802 - state kindergartens.
- 26 000 - private institutions.

Thus, almost a third of children enrolled in preschool education in the city use private kindergartens.
