Dajićko jezero
Lake
Description
Dajićko jezero Dajićko jezero ("Tičar" lake) is a lake located on the northwestern side of Golija mountain, in the village of Gledjica, and below the Tičar hill at 1438 meters above sea level. It is 33 km from Ivanjica, a town in western Serbia. Dajić Lake is triangular in shape, formed by atmospheric precipitation. Over time, the precipitation formed a depression all the way to the outcrop. Even today, the lake gets its water mostly from atmospheric sediments, as well as from a captured spring. A fountain dedicated to Vlastimir Parezanović, a pioneer of forestry in this area, was built at the source. The size of the lake is between 10 and 15 meters, although it changes, ie. it has no constant size. Many legends and traditions, as well as scientific works, are connected to the lake. It was first mentioned under the name Dajić Lake in the writings of Josif Pančić, Nedeljko Košanin and Jovan Cvijić, while the name Tičar was established among the locals.
