What it is and why

Night transport appeared in 2018 to connect the centre with distant districts (Novi Beograd, Zemun, Banovo Brdo, etc.) when the metro is closed. According to GSP Beograd night routes duplicate daytime ones but run less frequently: line 1N (Slavija - Zeleni Venc - Belgrade on the Water) runs every 30-60 minutes instead of 10-15 minutes during the day.

Taxis are divided into three categories:

According to the Republic Statistical Office in 2023 Belgrade had about 12 000 registered taxi drivers; legal - ≈ 8 000.

Step by step

1. Night buses: how to use them

  1. Check the route and timetable on the GSP Beograd website or in the MojaLinija app.
  2. Stops are the same as daytime ones, but not all are served. For example, 1N does not stop at the main railway station, only at Zeleni Venc.
  3. Tickets are sold by the driver (cash) or at tobacco kiosks (cash/card) - 150 RSD (≈ 1.30 EUR). A 24-hour pass costs 300 RSD (≈ 2.60 EUR).
  4. After 04:00 buses do not run - then take a taxi or an aggregator.
  5. Night buses have cameras, but it is better to sit closer to the driver, especially if the carriage is almost empty.

Ordering via app or phone lets you track the car in real time and pay by card. Basic fare in the centre - 250-350 RSD (2.20-3.10 EUR). After the first 3 km - 120 RSD/km (≈ 1.05 EUR/km). Waiting - 60 RSD/min (≈ 0.50 EUR). Legal taxis always have a meter and a receipt.

3. Taxi aggregators: Yandex Go and Bolt
