Gallery of Contemporary Fine Art The initiative to establish the Gallery of Contemporary Fine Art in Niš was initiated by prominent cultural and public workers from the former Yugoslavia. Among them were Dr. Lazar Trifunović, Zoran Pavlović, Boris Petkovski. It was founded as an independent institution on June 9, 1970. year and the desire of its founders was to bring the works of contemporary fine art closer to the citizens of Niš and southeastern Serbia through their work. The organization of various exhibitions, seminars and lectures is planned, as well as the collection of professional documentation and scientific research works from related fields. Today, the gallery competes with world-famous galleries in several exhibition spaces. The pavilion in the Niš Fortress, which is located 50 meters north of the Stambol Gate and was the former Turkish arsenal, hosts in its space author's works and exhibitions approved by the art council of the Gallery of Contemporary Art.
