## Notaries (Javni beležnik)

A notary in Serbia certifies lease agreements, purchase-sale contracts, powers of attorney and incorporation documents. The cost of the service usually ranges from 3 000 to 10 000 RSD, depending on the complexity and volume of work. ## Sworn translators (Sudski tumač)

For official procedures - residence permit, opening a bank account, business registration - a translation performed by a sudski tumač is required. This is a licensed translator whose work is legally recognized. The price per page is from 2 000 to 5 000 RSD. Translators work with Russian, Ukrainian and English languages and are present in all major cities of the country.

## Apostille

Apostille - an international stamp confirming the authenticity of a document. It is required for:

- birth certificate;
- criminal record certificate;
- educational diploma;
- marriage certificate.

**Important**: the apostille is placed in the country where the document was issued. If your diploma was obtained in Russia, the apostille must be obtained in Russia.

## Where to obtain an apostille

- **Russia**: at the MFC or civil registry offices (for certificates), as well as at the Ministry of Justice (for records).
- **Remotely**: through a trusted person equipped with a notarized power of attorney.
- **Serbia**: for Serbian documents the apostille is placed in the court (sud).
