Sovinsko jezero

Sovinsko Lake Sovinsko Lake or Sovinac is an artificial lake located about 2 kilometers east of the town of Salaš, in the Zaječar district. It is located next to the Zaječar-Negotin regional road and, together with the Glogovic lake, forms a reservoir intended primarily for the irrigation of arable land of the "Salaš" agricultural estate. It was made in 1988. year by blocking the Sovinac stream with a 14-meter high dam. The Sovino lake is very rich in fish, and the most numerous specimens are carp, grass carp, babushka, perch, catfish, bodorka, bandar and pike, and the lake is suitable for fishing, so it is not surprising that the constant presence of fishermen is there. The lake is surrounded by nature and a beautiful view of the nearby Veliki Krš and Stol mountains. It is only about thirty kilometers from Zaječar and Negotin, and the nearest populated place is Salaš.
