Restaurant Mitrovićev dom The restaurant Mitrovićev dom is located in Avala, not far from the Aval tower and opposite the log cabin church dedicated to the Holy Despot Stefan Lazarević. Located in the natural surroundings of one of Belgrade's most famous picnic spots, it is a good place to take a break while visiting Avala. The facility was built in 1933, on the site of an older mountain lodge from 1902. year. It was built of stone and wood, in a style that fits the mountainous landscape of Avala. Originally, it served as a mountain lodge, intended for rest and gathering of nature lovers. Mitrović's home is named after Dr. Dušan Mitrović Špirta, a doctor, a volunteer from the Thessaloniki Front and one of the people who significantly contributed to the development of mountaineering and winter sports among Belgraders in the period between the two world wars.
