Public Health Insurance (ОМС - zdravstvena knjižica)
- Available after obtaining a residence permit and registration with PIO (pension fund)
- Covers state clinics and hospitals
- Free - included in social contributions
- Issued at a branch of RFZO (Republički fond zdravstvenog osiguranja)
How to Use
Private Health Insurance (DМС)
- Choose a clinic from the insurance company's partner list.
- Call and schedule an appointment.
- Arrive with your policy.
- Treatment is free (sometimes with a small co-payment).
Public Health Insurance (zdravstvena knjižica)
- Choose a family doctor (izabrani lekar) at a polyclinic near your residence.
- The doctor issues referrals to specialists.
- Everything is free, but be prepared for queues.

Private Clinics
Expats often prefer private clinics: consultations cost around 3 000-8 000 RSD (≈ 25-70 €), no queues, staff usually speaks English.
