Description
Monument of four faiths This memorial ossuary was erected in 1934 at the City Cemetery, only 3 km from the center of Čačak. It was built in memory of the soldiers who died during the First World War and the Balkan Wars in the area of Čačak and its surroundings. It is in this place today thanks to the brave women led by Milica Obradović, who advocated for the transfer of the soldiers' remains to the common ossuary. History of the Monument of the Four Faiths First of all, fallen soldiers were buried in two locations, depending on which army they belonged to. The women's section of the Association of Reserve Officers and Warriors, committed to peace in the world, lobbied for the creation of a common memorial ossuary, in which all the remains were moved. Their initiative was supported by the Ministry of Justice and then 914 soldiers from 15 countries were buried in the newly built memorial ossuary.
