Recognition of a foreign school document (1-9 grades or 10-11 grades / college) for continuing studies in Serbia. The application is submitted in person to Агенцији за квалификације in Belgrade. It is filed by a parent or guardian; if the student is already of legal age, they do it themselves.
Any of the following will be accepted: a certificate/diploma of school graduation, a certificate of completion of individual grades, the student's ID card, or a school statement indicating the last grade attended; sometimes a ђачку књижицу (grade book) is requested.
For documents from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus an apostille is not required (bilateral legal-assistance agreement). For other countries an apostille is usually required, and it is placed in the country of issuance.
Payment can be made at a post office, a bank or a currency exchange office; you cannot pay with a card that was not issued in Serbia.
The curricula of Russia and Serbia align roughly up to the 7th grade, after which they diverge. For example, a graduate of the 9th grade of a Russian school usually enters the 1st grade of a Serbian secondary school, i.e., with a one-year step back. Plan the education taking this "jump" into account.
You need a completed form (in Serbian Cyrillic, full name and institution names - as in the translation), the original certificates, their translation by a sworn translator, a payment receipt, a copy of the child's passport and birth certificate, and the parent's passport. The decision is usually issued within 2-6 weeks.
