Documents for Residence Permit (boravak)
Basic package (for all grounds)
For each family member a separate "stack" is assembled: on top - photos and receipts, then the application and the remaining documents.
- Color photograph (face open, white background)
- White cardboard
- Health insurance for a year (even if the residence permit is issued for 3 years)
- Certificate of funds on a bank account
- Documents confirming the place of residence (owner's property right + statement of registration permission, or rental agreement)
- Scan of the foreign passport (page with photograph)
- If necessary - translation of the birth certificate by a certified translator

Fees (per person)
- Residence permit approval - ≈ 22 700 + 420 RSD
- Residence permit card - 1 788 + 2 120 RSD
- Biometrics - paid separately (both at the first submission and at renewal)
Rates are given for July 2026 according to official tariffs (republic administrative fee). Payment and current amounts - on eUprava; amounts change periodically, check before paying.
Apostille and a criminal-record certificate for a Serbian residence permit are not required.
Online vs offline
- Online (eUprava) - you upload scans, originals are not required, payment at the end. For business, work and talent grounds it is available only online.
- Offline (MUP) - appointment by e-mail, fees are paid in advance by receipts; for children the submission is only offline.
If after submission something is missing, you have 8 calendar days to provide the lacking documents.
Preparation steps
- Arrange the basics: white cardboard, SIM card, open a bank account (needed for the funds certificate).
- In parallel gather the document confirming the ground. For talents this is the longest part - certified translation and nostrification of the diploma.
- When everything is ready, submit the application, wait for the invitation to MUP, undergo biometrics and receive the card.
